Starting 3 June 2025, United Airlines will require all domestic passengers to check in at least 45 minutes before departure, regardless of whether they have checked baggage.

(The check-in deadline for international flights remains at 60 minutes.) This marks a change from the previous policy, which allowed travellers without checked bags to check in up to 30 minutes prior to departure.

United Airlines stated that the change is intended to bring greater consistency to its check-in process and to align with industry standards followed by other major airlines. The airline also emphasised that passengers who fail to check in by the new deadline may be denied boarding.

This update comes as United Airlines continues to refine its operations amid increasing scrutiny over flight punctuality and safety. Travellers are strongly advised to arrive at the airport well in advance to avoid missing their flights.
