Norfolk is a county that never fails to impress, and this visit was no exception. From breathtaking architecture to sandy paws on windswept beaches, it was an adventure filled with discovery, indulgence, and good old-fashioned British charm.

First stop: Norwich Cathedral, a masterpiece of medieval architecture that has stood the test of time with grace. The soaring spire, the intricate stonework, and the peaceful cloisters made for an awe-inspiring experience. There's something about walking through such a historic space that puts life into perspective—centuries of history echoing in its halls.
Next came Norwich Market, buzzing with energy and colour. Stalls overflowed with fresh produce, artisan goods, and street food that tempted at every turn. Whether it was local cheeses, handcrafted gifts, or the aroma of sizzling food wafting through the air, it was impossible to leave empty-handed (or on an empty stomach).
Walcott Beach & Bacton Woods
No trip is complete without letting our four-legged family member, Crystal, enjoy herself too! Crystal had the time of her life at Walcott Beach, running along the shoreline, kicking up wet sand, and chasing the waves. There’s a special kind of happiness that comes from watching a dog lose itself in pure, tail-wagging joy.
From the coast, we ventured into Bacton Woods, where towering trees and winding trails offered a refreshing change of scenery. Nature had truly put on a show, and Crystal took full advantage, bounding through the undergrowth, sniffing out mysterious woodland scents, and generally living her best life.
Cromer & Craft Bakery Indulgence
A visit to Cromer brought more coastal magic, with charming streets, seafront views, and of course, a walk along Cromer Pier, standing strong against the waves and winds. There’s something nostalgic about wandering a seaside pier, the scent of salt in the air, the distant laughter of families enjoying classic amusements.
And then, the real treat—the stop at Craft Bakery, where the world’s best bread and cakes awaited. There’s no exaggeration when I say this bakery delivers flawless baking. The bread? Perfection. The cakes? Heaven in every bite. It was the kind of indulgence that made you wish you'd brought a bigger bag (or perhaps, an extra stomach).
Final Thoughts
Norfolk always holds a special place in our hearts, but this trip was truly one for the books. It was a blend of history, nature, indulgence, and the simple joys of a wagging tail on an open beach. If you're ever looking for a getaway that combines culture, coastline, and culinary delights, Norfolk will never disappoint.
